Files fails to open - "features from a later version"

The AfPub file I saved and closed at 18.38 pm yesterday is failing to open this morning

Notification says "The file includes features from a later version of Affinity"

I'm using 2 2.04 - so what "later version" could that be?  Check for updates says this is latest version so how can the file contain "future features".

Any suggestions welcome.  All work stopped!

The beta may be able to open it

Either install the beta to test that or upload the document here for someone to test it for you

I downloaded the Beta but it crashes as soon as it launches.

Tried restart computer.

MacBook M1  running Ventura 13.2.1

Well, the good news is that it does open in the Beta

opens for me  which usually implies a resource problem. Breaking the link to the resource folders by renaming them will probably get you going again

Any idea why the Beta I downloaded crashes assoonas it opens.  

 

Maybe I'll delete and download again.

Strange, it does not open for me in V2 retail and I don't have the resources

I was using the beta - have you got a crash report we can look at @Dennison

probably best to make sure you have no other v2 apps running at the same time

I had no other V2 apps running.  Closed all. restarted computer. same results.

if you have all your liked files in one folder rename the root folder name,  open file,  resave the file. You can then reopen the file and relink or rename the folders back to the original then reopen the file and relink.

Here is the latest crash report.

I uninstalled Beta, restarted computer, and re-downloaded and re-installed - same result

It will need opening in the beta I'm afraid.
 

Can you try launching the app whilst holding the control key down at the same time, perform the reset and see if it launches OK then

That is odd - do you have any unusual scheme settings or thrid party apps that alter UI schemes ?

I do not believe so.  everything has been pretty normal.  Occasionally AfPub fails to save so I Save As using B C or D   (eg. Mar16C).  But not have problem reopening.

And never seen this future features error message.

There is also a newer beta build available you should be able to download that from your beta account

The error message is usually related to a problem with resources. The beta version has some fixes to get around that

I've downloaded Beta2.1.0    two times but same crashes on open.  I've restarted the computer 3 times.  Running Ventura 13.2.1
