Can we have an option within the Assistant, to show a white mask alongside an adjustment layer when it is added.

it is currently not obvious (without searching through help file) that the adjustment layer mask is automatically added. I spent an hour or so determining this,

.cheers

I don't know if this is what you mean, but for me the mask is showing next to the adjustment layer.

Thanks Psenda, I am talking about when the adjustment layer is immediately added.

I do understand that when you start painting with a black brush the white layer mask appears.

What im asking for is an option for the white mask to be shown immediately when the adjustment layer is added

Why?

For a lot of people, they never need to edit the mask, when adding an adjustment, so why waste space showing it

By only showing the mask once you have edited it, that gives you a visual reminder that that adjustment actually has had its mask altered

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

To me, the current behavior is also completely logical and understandable, but that's why the OP is asking for it as an alternative to the current behavior, i.e. the ability to set up the Assistant.

P.S. displaying an empty/unused mask enables its direct editing. Currently, something has to be drawn on the layer - in order for the mask to be displayed, and only then can the mask be displayed (isolated) and continue to be edited.

Carl123,

I’m asking for it to be an option. The default option would be disabled for people with your opinion.

People with my opinion, can enable the option. that’s what options are designed for.

Nobody’s asking for your opinion anyway. This is a suggestions forum, not a discussion forum.

That's why the question "Why?" was asked. Otherwise, your way of working and the reason for the request is unknown to other users and probably also developers, so you can hardly expect its implementation.
