pomme27 Posted March 14, 2023 Posted March 14, 2023 I want to scale down an object using the Transform panel. But when I do so, the "text on curve" does not auto scale down with the object. Attached is a screenshot showing the result I get. Also attached is my Affinity Designer file. To scale down the object with the text, the only thing I do is type a smaller width value in the Transform box. Any thoughts on how to do this? I have a lot of objects with text on curves, so I'm hoping that I'm making some silly mistake and won't have to scale the text manually. Thx. Temp.afdesign.zip JariH 1 Quote
Catshill Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 Have you used the outer drag handle to change the size of the object. It will also change the font size as required. Dan C and Bango 1 1 Quote
pomme27 Posted March 15, 2023 Author Posted March 15, 2023 Yes, I have. But my project contains hundreds of objects with curved text. Dragging a handle is, of course, not a complex task, but it's an extra step, and it introduces the chance of error (that the object is scaled to a different size from the text). Is there really no solution that scales the object and its curved text all in one step? Quote

You could try using the outer handle after selecting all the items and using the "Transform Objects Separately" option in the Context toolbar while the Move tool is chosen. It doesn't allow you to use the Transform Panel. It also won't change the items to be all the same size. JariH Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 Yikes! I just bumped into this. When selecting the group and scaling, I expect everything to scale nicely. In other programs, scaling has always worked like the second example below. Scaling text with shapes was a bit challenging today. Curve.mov Curve 2.mov Quote
JariH Posted September 21, 2023 Posted September 21, 2023 Oops, I need to select the button here - not just tick the options. (One learns.) Quote
Oufti Posted September 21, 2023 Posted September 21, 2023 Or use the outer handle (green arrow), not other handles (circled in red). Bango 1 Quote Affinity Suite 2.5 – Monterey 12.7.5 – MacBookPro 14" 2021 M1 Pro 16Go/1To I apologise for any approximations in my English. It is not my mother tongue.
