Hello everyone!

I am using APv2.0.4 to export a data merged file to PDF. With about 1000 pages the file takes more than an hour to export using the PDF(print) preset.

The same data merge done in APv1 will export to PDF in less than a second.

Something is clearly wrong here and it does not seem related to PDF settings. (I have tried numerous presets and settings including the ones that avoid colour conversion, etc.)

The static portion of the data merge is a pass-through PDF on a master page.

Thank you!

@EfveeI could do with taking a look at the files and running through the process myself in V1 and V2. Would you be able to DM me links to your Affinity Publisher file and also the source file for the data merge?

Also which OS are you running Publisher on?

I, too, am experiencing long PDF exports. For a 48-page PDF export, it goes pretty fast up near the end of the progress bar, but the last percentages are slow and cause my Intel iMac to race the fans, uses 75% GPU and max CPU cores, while the Activity Monitor reports 1500% CPU usage on Affinity Publisher. This same slowness is present if I just wait to let it calculate the file size: it goes pretty fast until near the end where it slows to a crawl and the same high GPU/CPU loads.

I've also seen this CPU load and spinning beachball cursor just by entering the PDF export settings window to select a dropdown option without actually printing!
