Loading and developing photos painfully slow

Hi @John McAdamand Welcome to the Forums,

There are a couple of things you can try to see if this improves, first if you've installed the MSIX version of Affinity, then I'd highly suggest uninstalling that and reinstalling using the MSI/EXE version which you can get by following the advice in this post and then seeing if the speed of working with RAW files improves.  If with the MSI/EXE version installed, if it's still slow, try going into Preferences and on the Performance section disable openCL at the bottom of that window, click close and restart Affinity, then try your workflow again.

Turning HW Acceleration off/on is easy and quick, so I'd recommend trying it before doing an uninstall and a fresh install.
There will definitely be some difference between MSIX and MSI, but 3-4x?
