Lines changing after drawing -> how can this avoided

Recommended Posts

Hi. Since I started to use Affinity, preferred with Wacom tablet (intous pro), every time I draw with "vektorpinsel", immediately the line changes after a milisecund I drawed it and it is a similar line, but not exactly the line, I have drawn. If I would had drawn it on paper, it would be other. How can I fix this problem, where is the solution? I tried several buttons but until yet, I didn't find the reason, either not in YouTube tutorials or books I found (which is the best?).

-> How can I set the vector drawing in the way, it does not change after I made the line?

I am technician an most time it does not matter, but after years I wonder why I could not find the solution and I want to draw directly with wacon.

Or is Wacom intous pro to old, do I have to change? Actually, I use Affinity Desiger Persona on a 1-year old MacBook.

Best wishes,

Angie

I hope it is okay to ask this here (or where can I?)

This ‘Resources’ section is intended for sharing assets, brushes, templates, etc for other forum members to use. Questions about using the Affinity apps on MacOS or Windows should be posted here:

Edit: I see that @Patrick Connor moved the thread just as I was posting!

I don’t expect any Wacom Intuos tablet to be incompatible with the Affinity suite.

Click on the More Button in the Context Toolbar when you have the brush active. Or you can select the Curve created by the brush stroke, in the Layers Panel, then in the Strokes Panel press the Properties button. There's 2 options, Brush Width and Size Variance.

Also in the Context Toolbar there are Controller Settings. With Pen/Tablets these are used for dynamically changing some properties, such as size.

I believe the software is stroking a path as it fits fits the path in real time through sample points of the user's input, and then the path is simplified and smoothed on completion of the user's input. If I remember correctly, I requested a user control for the degree of path simplification years ago to help artists better preserve the unique traits of their handwork. Probably others have made a similar request. Maybe a control will materialise, but there are a great many requests which will have higher priority.
