jonathancharles
It would be good to be able to feather a selection to a higher value than than the 200px slider offers. (you seem to be able to manually use a value of 400px) However there are lots of situations when (especially with very high resolution images) 200px is not any where near enough. Asha
Strange--I was able to feather much more than that. I have a 3600px x 4800px file, created a selection rectangle, and then selected "Feather" from the Select menu. The slider went up to 1024px for me. However, when I selected "Refine" from the top bar of the rectangular selection tool, the feather slider only went to 100. jonathancharles
jonathancharles
@Asha Thank you. Yes I see that now you point it out. However over the years (with photoshop) I have gradually stopped feathering when I first make a selection, using the 'refine' tool after I have created it seems to (maybe it is just me) give more control. PS. you are right too. I only see 100px now I try and do it again...
Asha
I tried manually entering the feather value in the Refine dialog box, and I was able to go to 1024 there too...it just takes a little while for the effect to process.
jonathancharles
Ahhhh great. A bit clunky. (ie because it keeps popping back to 100 if you return to the slider) But that works pretty well. Many thanks. Jonathan
