Sun2Son Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 Hello, Wierd - I've got a 220 page book in AP. PC Speed was never an issue - until yesterday. I searched the forum and found a thread from 2021 - suggestion was to hold the ctrl key down while starting - and the 'Clear User Data' window appears. Three boxes are checked in that window. 1 - Clear User Defaults (what does this mean? I'm GUESSING it will wipe out the custom Text Styles, paragraph settings etc - and I don't want to do that and start from scratch) 2 'Don't restore Window and Documents (no clue what this means - but I centainly don't want to lose 220 pages) 3. ' Reset Studio' (again - no clue - maybe return all settings back to default?) I looked in the Help DOCS - did a search for 'Clear User Data' - found zero info explaining what each of these options are.... So I come to the wise ones for for help. TIA, John K Quote

Sun2Son Posted March 14, 2023 Author Posted March 14, 2023 Hi Mike, Thx for the link. I'm hardly a tech genius but the descriptions for the 3 Items don't lead me to believe that 'clearing' them will speed up PC (which has mysteriously stopped acting slow when Aff Publisher is open). At last now I can move forward - thx! Quote
