Rasterize live mask

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'd like to request the ability to rasterize a live mask, or the ability to Select > Selection from layer on a live mask.

In PS I often use a luminosity mask as the start point, select the pixels, and then I get my brush out and start painting with the existing selection which has the benefit that I can't paint outside the selection.

This workflow can't be achieved with a live luminosity mask in AF 2 because you can't select the pixels and then paint in and around the selection while easily avoiding painting outside the selection.

I know about the compound mask workaround but it's not the same, because you can't make a selection from the mask and use that to avoid painting in the areas you don't want.

thanks.

Perhaps you should use a normal Luminosity Mask, rather than a Live one?

Use the Channels panel. Select your Adjustment or Live Filter layer's Alpha channel or the Composite Alpha channel.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
