LizBrown Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 Hello, I've been trying to create a palette in the same way I did in Affinity V1 and the palette menu keeps resetting and not allowing me to add new colors. I've had 20+ students report the same problem to me, all on different kinds of iPads. Here are the steps I'm taking: 1) place an image on the canvas with some colors on it 2) Open the Color menu, then go to Swatches 3) Tap the hamburger menu and tap Add Application Palette, then create the palette 4) Sample a color, make it a fill, then tap Add Current Fill to Palette (this one works) 5) Sample a new color, make it a fill, then tap Add Current Fill to palette (you can't because it's grayed out) 6) Reset the menu by going back to the color wheel, then find your palette again (now add fill to palette works) This happens every single time you want to add a new color to the palette so it takes a very long time to create a palette! Hi LizBrown, I’m using the current beta (it’s available to all users and installs separately to release version). The release version has this bug (devs are aware). The current beta version has this fixed. App and Doc Pallettes are both working correctly. You could wait for the next update to rel version or, if it’s a major pain, simply download the beta version and use that. It addresses a number of known issues. Beta also offers some new features such as Style picker.🙂 Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). If would probably be best to start your own topic and provide full information on what's happening to you, your system configuration, etc. and a recipe for creating the problem. Screenshots and/or a screen recording of the full application window would also be nice. Thanks. RWhite Posted Friday at 01:21 PM Posted Friday at 01:21 PM Hi Walt, I have created an Application Swatch Palette, but every time I open up AD it seems to revert back to Colours choose (first in the menu). Do you know how I can make mine default. I have tried use the set as default option in the hamburger menu but that doesn't seem to work. Quote
RWhite Posted Friday at 04:34 PM Posted Friday at 04:34 PM Okay, I have found a solution for this problem, which seems to work each time. I simply renamed each swatch adding a number... 01_My Swatches, 02_Colours, 03_Gradient, 04_Greys etc This means that the first swatch to load each time when you open or create a new document is whatever 01_ is. Before Colours was default and loaded each time which was very annoying. This maybe a work around but it deals with the problem. If anyone else finds this an annoyance then I hope this tip helps. Because Set as Default didn't work for me. Quote
PaulEC Posted Friday at 04:42 PM Posted Friday at 04:42 PM I find the easiest way to set my choice of a default with palettes, brushes and so on, is just to add an underscore to the front of the name. (e.g. _Default).
