Kamkam Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 I have been traveling overseas and my iPad Pro has been the only means to process my images for exhibitions IMG_8694.MOV .I have been working with Lightroom and photoshop for many years but unfortunately, or fortunately, iPad version of photoshop is extremely primitive thus I have purchased Affinity Photo, desktop and iPad versions, and I love it, i haven’t been able to try the desktop version yet.The iPad version is a great image processing software, however there are some problems and this is one of them. When I enter a HEX number the color does not match the number. If I pick the color next to the color picker, in color studio, the color is correct but the number changes to a different number. Also there are, as I mentioned in a different post, some discrepancies between the color that you pick and the RGB number for the color. Quote
NotMyFault Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 Hi, there are many possible causes: Do you use RGB as document format and sRGB as color profile? can you please activate „show touches“ in settings so we can see them in the screen recording? NotMyFault Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 In case you use a CMYK document in combination with RGB colors: there is a open bug giving vector objects wrong colors (not affecting raster tools like brushes) Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | MBP M3 Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 | Dell 27“ 4K iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps. Staff DWright Posted March 7, 2023 Staff Posted March 7, 2023 If you are using a RGB 32bit colour space then the RGB hex code will show a different colour as these are based on RGB 8 web colours. Quote
NotMyFault Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 This looks more like the mentioned CMYK / RGB color issue. I‘ve opened the file, converted to CMYK, and added a rectangle and pixel layer with the given hex color code in RGB. The rectangle shows a wrong darker orange, despite both show the hex color code. the screenshots are approximate only and cant show the actual colors, as i have no access to the actual source file used by OP, and iPads use DCI-P3 for screenshots taken from the video. Kamkam Posted March 7, 2023 Author Posted March 7, 2023 Thanks for your replies. The app’s color profile is set to ProPhoto. The document’s profile is also ProPhoto and RGB16. I noticed that the only way to get the correct color from the entered RGB numbers, in color studio, is to work in sRGB color space. Quote
