roastpost
Hello everyone, My question is hard to describe but I feel like its solution will be easy. I have a file that was originally black and white and everything on the image that was in white was supposed to have no fill. After changing the background color on my image i realised that the inside of the design had a white fill instead of no fill. When i changed the white fill into no fill i was then only left with a black image. I have attached the file below using a blue background for you to understand better. Hopefully you were able to understand my description. If not please ask me anything and I will try to clarify. Thanks you for all your help. R C-R
The black image is caused by the next to bottom layer (just above the blue "Layer1" layer). It is a black outline of the entire graphic, over which all the white & other shapes are placed. So when you remove the while fills, the black shows through. R C-R
I don't know if this will help but I have attached a modified version of your test file using subtraction to "punch out" holes in the black outline shape, & held down the option key during subtraction to preserve the shapes as a compound. That plus including the history with the modified version should give you an idea of the process I used. It isn't complete but I hope you get the idea of one way to change the fills to transparent. affinity test (compound).afdesign Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.4.1 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 Affinity Photo 1.10.8; Affinity Designer 1.108; & all 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.
