cance440 Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 (edited) I can't print or export this document. It seems that there's something corrupting it. When trying, it freezes and then starts to swallow up more system memory. See attachments. Update, I finally got it to print, but I had to redraw a number of elements. FYI, this was a Designer v1 document converted to v2. I've yet to see this problem with other v1 files. Shutters-coffeecup.afdesign Edited March 3, 2023 by cance440 update Quote
MikeTO Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 Hi, I think it's partially due to the combined size/resolution of the document. It's 57.556x70 inches at 300dpi which is 17267x21000 px. Did you mean to create it 70 inches tall? But even after rescaling it, saving it to a new file, and restarting Designer, I was unable to export it. I got it to export to a very small PNG file but I couldn't just export as PDF. Something is going on with this file but it's so simple that I don't know what it is. Maybe somebody else will have a better idea. cance440 1 Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.6 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.6 for macOS Sequoia 15.3, MacBook Pro (M4 Pro) and iPad Air (M2)
Staff Pauls Posted March 3, 2023 Staff Posted March 3, 2023 I was wondering if there was something with LOTS of nodes on it - Navigating around the document is difficult cance440 1 Quote
cance440 Posted March 3, 2023 Author Posted March 3, 2023 It is drawn at a 1:1 scale, which is what I typically do with these plans. It's just easier for me than trying to draw to a smaller scale. Normally, it works just fine. When I re-drew the box on the right hand side, it printed fine. You'll notice that when you select that box which appears to have a 1pt stroke, that rule does not show up in the stroke palette. Quote
Staff Pauls Posted March 3, 2023 Staff Posted March 3, 2023 The rectangle highlighted has some dashes defined which is bloating everything Quote
cance440 Posted March 3, 2023 Author Posted March 3, 2023 Ok. That was another rectangle I replaced before I got it to print ok. I thought there was something odd about it because when I zoomed out, it showed up heavier than the other lines in the drawing, but it wasn't showing as dashed. Hopefully, this won't affect other v1 files, but if it does, I'll have some idea of how to fix it. Thanks. Quote
