Aligning a number of separate text boxes to each other that are not centred on the page

It always moves both boxes to the centre of the page. I have no problem aligning a text box to an object, but 2 text boxes is an issue for some reason. I keep thinking there must be an easy solution I'm missing but I can't figure it out. Please can you put me out of my misery.

Could you perhaps upload a screengrab showing a before and after, i.e., before showing where your two text boxes start from and after showing where to want them to be when aligning them...
