This is not feature request , just want a small change , if possible

Affinity Designer layers panel looks like photoshop layers , every element , layer , picture has big size in layer panel , if possible , change the layers panel just like illustrator.

I am not talking about the how layers panel works , I am just talking about to clean the layer panel and make every element small ,

Check the difference

At last , you can keep af photo layer panel as it is but change the layer panel appearance to simple.

Just out of interest - why don't you show a comparison for the exact same situation? I understand that the point is to show "how terrible Affinity is", but this way your comparison is completely biased.

P.S. also, showing/comparing the Layers panel from V1, which was discontinued, doesn't make much sense.

Edit: Check the difference

Here's an exact match for the Illustrator screenshot

There are no icons to display layer types, on the sample of AI, that's why I turned them off in the previous post so that it could be a "exactly" comparison.

I have said , I don't dislike this affinity  , when working on affinity layers every element and every group opens (  I dont know how can I understand you ) ,

At last ,before two year ago it used to feel me easy to work on illustrator specially on layer when designing mascot logo

So let me get that straight -  two years ago you made a logo in illustrator and now Affinity should change the way it works based on your... how to call it... "expertise"?

If I understand OP correctly, they seemingly want the panel elements to feel slim, maybe because they miss how AI's panel could be tightened up. May I suggest to set thumbnails to small, then turn off "Show Object Type" (can still hover to get that info), which makes it look even cleaner...

Outside of playing with the UI Brightness in Preferences to reduce line-item contrast, OP can get pretty darn close to the AI example (imo)

I do find the race car tracks useful.

Alternatively, their color differentiation/highlighting would be useful.

but right now it is just this to me:

Drawing a hierarchy with vertical lines is a common practice, for example in source code editors, but to improve orientation, the lines are color-coded.

Something similar would be useful for displaying the hierarchy in the Layers Panel, but it will clash with the current trend of "fading" and "decontrasting" Affinity applications. The current solution is really unclear with a greater depth of hierarchy.
