I'm new to Affinity Photo and using it on a MacBook Pro running macOS Ventura 13.0.1. When opening a RAW image in Affinity
Photo 2 my understanding is that you should be able to select between Pixel Layer, RAW Layer (Embedded) or RAW Layer (Linked).
When I open a RAW image it defaults to Pixel Layer but it's grey and unable to change it.

Can anyone suggest how to resolve this.  Thanks in anticipation

Hi @Martyn_Tee and welcome to the forums...

You are indeed correct with your assumption and I'm slightly unsure why the options appear greyed out... Are you able to upload the RAW file shown in your screenshot so we can take a look with a view to trying to understand what is going on here...

Hi @Martyn_Tee, um, well opening your file is giving me the expected options, the only obvious difference I can see here is the version of macOS...

@Martyn_TeeIn the Develop assistant change to the Serif Labs instead of the Apple.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Well there you go, you learn something new every day, I didn't realise that restricted the options... :)

Interestingly, if you change it to from Apple to Serif you have to reload the image as it doesn't change on the fly but maybe that is to be expcected...

Hi @Old Bruce Thanks so much for your suggestion it has worked.  Now I just need to work out the best option.  I have all my raw files on an external hard drive so I'm thinking about the Linked option.  Once I've edited the photo I export to jpeg and import to Apple Photos.  That way it preserves the location data. I tried the share option but that doesn't seem to share the location data.

Thanks again for your help.
