Hi all,

while i was about to create some sort of badges/stickers i was wondering if it is possible to change a bunch of object at the same time if they are based on the same lets call it master object or somehow linked and. i could not find a solution yet that's why i am consulting you all.

to specify it a little more:

  • there is an object group on an ArtBoard in A4 format
  • that object group is duplicated on that ArtBoard so it can later me printed on a blank sticker sheet of A4 format

Problem:

  • if there are changes needed afterwards every duplicated object group has to be modified (colours excluded, for that i use global colours)

What i am looking for:

  • change the initial object group and by changing that initial group all other duplicated object groups should change in the same way
  • not only transforming the selected object groups separately (there is an option for this) but really change the object (change text, form,..)

does anybody know a solution to this?

thanks in advance

You may be best served by using Designer's Symbols.

Caveat: These Symbols are per Document but can be copy and pasted between open Designer Documents as symbols. Make a symbol (Sticker one) in Designer document A and make another symbol (Sticker two) in Designer document B. You can copy each symbol and paste into Designer document C as two new symbols in document C.

A further caveat: Any changes made to the Symbol(s) in document C will affect all the symbols in document C only. Neither A or B's symbols will be changed.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
