quarki69
On the right side you can see the image that I exported as a JPG (Best Quality) from designer. On the left side you can see how it is displayed on a website online. Has anyone any idea where these differences are coming from? I have never ever experienced something like that before... When I download the image again, it turns back to the original colors. :( Paul Bravery
Paul Bravery
Hi quarki69, What colour profile are using? I believe that you are seeing a 'colour gamut' problem, the difference between sRGB and 'web safe colours'? The colour shift looks similar to how a colour print looks compared to how it looks on screen. Paul. quarki69
R C-R
Which browser application were you using to view the website? Some browsers may not display all the colors in the file depending on their capabilities, settings, & the OS they are running on. As Paul mentioned, using just the web safe color pallet will help with that. Also, some browsers may ignore color profiles embedded in the file, & there isn't much you can do about that. In other words, on the web what is seen is not necessarily the same for everyone. quarki69 1 Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V23.0 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 Affinity Photo 1.10.8; Affinity Designer 1.108; & all 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.
quarki69
What colour profile are using? Dear Paul, I left the setting untouched, thus "Use document settings". There are several profiles to choose from. I understand that "web coated" has nothing to do with the WWW, but with offset printing. So the only profile I can go for is CMYK. Would that be correct? Dear R C-R, I am using Firefox on Mac OS and did never have any issues. I totally understand that all this is caused by my lack of knowledge, but I am eager to understand and I already fell in love with Affinity Designer, so there is no way back! :D I now changed the Pixel format to RGB 8-bit and the ICC profile to Adobe RGB. That was the simplest sounding combination I could find. Weird thing is, that the file size of the exported JPG already shrunk to half it's size and the dimensions have been reduced by 1 and 3 pixels. :o OK, let's see... Yay! It works! Thank you, for pushing me into the right direction, the Stig and Hubert, öhm, I mean Professor Farnsworth! :D Thank you, guys! Asha
Quarki, sounds like you came up with a workable solution. For future, CMYK is for printing--colors for screen viewing should always be in the RGB space. Paul Bravery and quarki69
quarki69
Dear Asha, thank you very much! :) I should have known this. I started the project based on a draft that will be used to print posters and handouts / leaflets. From the same source I created the web graphics. I guess I should have started a new project with new artboards for that instead. Will keep that in mind now. Thanks a lot Asha and have a great weekend! ;)
