GRAFKOM Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 I'm reporting this as a bug because I find it hard to believe that the Pages panel was intentionally removed from Designer Persona 2 Publisher and Publisher 2 beta. In version 1 on Windows, you could set the display of this panel in Publisher Persona and Designer Persona. In version 2, this is no longer possible. Please give Serif a reason for removing this panel. I bought the entire Affinity package - 3 programs for 3 systems. If I work in Publisher - almost 100% of my work is done in Publisher - why can't I use this panel properly in all 3 Personas? Yes, I know, each persona has a different layout of tools, but I have the same pages in each Persona, so why can I only see this panel in Persona Publisher - I don't understand the Serif logic. For some time now I have a suspicion that Serif doesn't have a human graphic designer on board who would normally work on this cool software. There are IT specialists who develop the program, but you need a person who has real contact with the program on a daily basis - then he would see what needs to be improved to make it work efficiently. Maybe we should hire such a man in Serif. Should I transfer money to the account so Serif can hire him? Quote
walt.farrell Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 The Pages panel is only part of the Publisher Persona in V1, V2, and V2.1 Beta. It is not, and has never been, part of the Designer Persona for me. If you've been seeing it in the Designer Persona, then I think your older applications are broken. Sorry. walt.farrell Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 I wonder: Have you been playing around with copying studio presets between applications, to try to make it easier to get a compatible application setup? If so, that's not supported, but might explain what you're experiencing. carl123 Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 As far as I can recall, the pages in the Designer and Photo personas (in Publisher) have only ever been accessible via the controls at the bottom left of the screen (next to the hint line) walt.farrell 1 Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. GRAFKOM Posted February 27, 2023 Author Posted February 27, 2023 In version 1 of Publisher on Windows, I have a Pages panel in Designer Persona. I didn't do anything with the program. I installed it as an .exe file from the Serif server. This panel works very well also in Designer Persona, because I have all the pages at hand and when working in Designer Persona, I can create using individual tools and immediately indicate which page I want, add, duplicate, delete - I don't have to go to Publisher Persona to perform these steps. I can only guess why this panel is not present in separate standalone programs Designer and APhoto. But I don't understand why it's not in all Persona Publisher. Quote
carl123 Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Can we see a screenshot of that plus the View > Studio... menu expanded in the Designer persona Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. GRAFKOM Posted February 27, 2023 Author Posted February 27, 2023 Here you go, here's a video from Publisher 1 Please restore this panel to Designer Persona and add it to APhoto Persona. 16-25-32.mp4 carl123 1 Quote

GRAFKOM Posted February 27, 2023 Author Posted February 27, 2023 Let me just add that this Pages panel was with me in Publisher from the very beginning, as soon as I purchased the first released version of Publisher. If it works, please explain to me why this panel is not in the other Personas. There's no technical problem with that, so what...? Quote
walt.farrell Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 It's not supposed to be in any Persona except the Publisher Persona. If it's present in the Designer Persona then you're experiencing a bug, and one I've never seen reported as far as I remember. I bet the panel would go away if you did View > Studio > Reset Studio. Staff Pauls Posted February 27, 2023 Staff Posted February 27, 2023 it was a design decision at the time to use the pages navigator in Designer and Photo and the publisher personas were to match those apps. You are of course free to make a feature request for the Panel Quote
