Brad Smith Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 Does V2 have a hot key to temporarily hide and or show the 'marching ants' selection? Or is there a simple way to achieve this? TIA Brad Quote

_Th Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 There is a menu option to hide the 'marching ants' selection (View > Show Pixel Selection), and you can add a keyboard shortcut. I made mine CTRL-H (Yes, same as that other Photo software 'cause, muscle memory.) So I changed the shortcut for Layers > Hide Others from CTRL-H to CTRL-ALT-H. Sadly, I didn't realize this was available. Really should be the default IMHO. v_kyr and Brad Smith 1 1 Quote
Brad Smith Posted February 26, 2023 Author Posted February 26, 2023 _Th, thank you. If you're bored at the moment, could you take the time (no rush) to list the steps I need to take on my Mac, to create a shortcut and back? Pleeeeeze? After 40 years, my fingers are twitching at the thought of that shortcut. Brad Quote
_Th Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 1 hour ago, Brad Smith said: list the steps I need to take on my Mac, to create a shortcut and back I'm on Windows, but would assume it's the same: Preferences > Shortcuts > (Photo) View > Show Pixel Selection. Then just click in the empty(?) box beside Show Pixel Selection and type the shortcut you want. Since I've used Photoshop for a very long time, CTRL-H is a habit that's hard to break, so that's what I used. (Which means I had to change the Layers > Hide Others shortcut to something else as CTRL-H is the default for that one.) And it toggles the marching ants. One less thing I to re-train muscle memory on in order to be productive. Happy me. Brad Smith 1 Quote
Brad Smith Posted February 26, 2023 Author Posted February 26, 2023 Oh, thank you so much. Generous and eloquent. I did as you suggested and now have a shortcut that works. Cheers to you, _Th, from Australia. Brad _Th 1 Quote
