SStohelit
Why does Affinity Designer 2 sometimes decide it just doesn't want to open a file? I have lost access to 2 files now, they just sit on my desktop. The program tries to open the file but it just sits there saying "Loading 1 Document" forever. I have to force quit the program. It will just never open certain files. This seems to happen to any files roughly over 200KB.
walt.farrell
What kind of file are you having trouble with? Can you share one of them? Hangman
@SStohelit, as @walt.farrell suggested, are you able to share one of the files you're unable to open to see if others can open it or determine what is causing the issue for you? If you are unable to share the file on the forum just request a private dropbox link and one of the moderation team will provide a link in this thread for you to upload your file so they can investigate further. Without seeing the file it's almost impossible to provide any advice that is going to help resolve the issue. Staff NathanC Posted February 27, 2023 Staff Share Posted February 27, 2023 Thanks for sending over the files, I've not had any problem opening them on my side, both files are opening immediately, which is potentially indicating there is a local issue with your app. However, Just to confirm it's not related to the file contents and before we look at resetting/defaulting the apps, i've removed the missing font in your first doc and removed the linked resources in the second and then re-saved the files, i've PM'd you a link to both of them, could you confirm if it's the same issue with opening the files? Also, if it is the same problem with the files endlessly loading, could you check in activity monitor if Designer 2 has high memory/CPU usage whilst the files are loading?
