laurent32 Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 Is there a way to know which template was used (if this is the case) when we created a document ? Is that action permanently saved somewhere ? walt.farrell Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 Only by making some kind of note within the Template. How you would do that might depend on which application the Template is intended for. In Publisher you could have an unused Master Page with info like that. In Designer you could have info saved in the pasteboard area. In Photo, perhaps an empty layer with a name you could see in the Layers panel (which would also work in Designer and Publisher). laurent32 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. When using any of these templates I hide the text layer. This makes it also easy to recognize in explorer or my DAM and drag/drop to the UI for usage. Another nice idea, thanks @N.P.M. Twolane Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 I'm not sure what it is you're producing, but for my POD and ebooks, I have a number of templates that I've created that depend on the POD book size. I loaded an Affinity template, modified it, and saved it to my templates folder with an appropriate name that includes the size and other information. Ditto for my e-book cover. Works for me. laurent32 Posted February 25, 2023 Author Posted February 25, 2023 Thanks for your input @Twolane. My question was more like the other way around. [ Note : I modify my templates regularly. ] => Opening a document, I wanted to know what was the template I used when I created it. If you are wanting this for Publisher (as per the title) then you could put the information (template name for example) in the Document Information's Comments: section of the Fields panel. laurent32 1 Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear.
