Source
I'm trying to combine two pictures. I don't want to merge them, I want each to occupy their own space. Can someone tell me a simple way of doing that? Thanks.
JFisher
Hi Source,Have you taken a look at this tutorial at all? You can insert additional images using File > Place and the tutorial may assist you perfecting the image.I hope this helps!J Source
barninga
if you mean "one picture above/aside the other", once you have loaded the first image, you can enlarge the document's canvas, then open the second image, copy it and paste in the first one, then move according to your needs the two layers you've gotten. Staff MEB Posted February 18, 2016 Staff Share Posted February 18, 2016 Hi Source, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Open your first image, then you can drag the second image from the Finder to inside Affinity. You can select and move them independently using the Move Tool (the black arrow tool). If the document canvas is not big enough to accommodate the two images side by side you can enlarge it as suggested by @barninga going to menu Document ▸ Resize Canvas.... Let us know if you still have trouble. Source 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference

Klumper
Is it possible to do something similar on the iPad version?
Staff MEB Posted March 14, 2018 Staff Share Posted March 14, 2018 Hi Klumper, Welcome to Affinity Forums With the first image already open, tap the three dots icon on the top left of the interface and select Place ▸ Place from Photos (or Cloud) and select the second image. Repeat to add more images to the same project. Then tap to add the image at full size or tap-drag to set a size before inserting it. JLGF1
I struggled with this in AP, too, and found the easiest way (by far) was to use IrfanView Create Panorama where you can easily place any number of images beside each other by answering one simple question: vertical or horizontal placement.
