I just cancelled my Adobe subscription due to no job for 2 years. I feel naked. I don't know anything about Affinity. Is it a good alternative to Adobe Suite... how easy is it to transition and do the same work using these programs? Thank you ahead of time for any responses. I have read a lot of posts so far and still not sure how it stacks up beside Adobe from a user perspective. Thank you.

Hi @MOMO10, I also lost my job a while back and in retrospect, it was for the best. While I have no money, I am doing what I initially set out to do. So hang in there. I also come from a long term professional background with Photoshop. Large corporations, ad agencies, millions of pages of 4-color work and web.

I have been using Affinity Photo for about two months. I am still not fluent with it but am becoming more comfortable with its use. While both Affinity and Adobe use Layers, Channels and Paths, the implementation between the packages is considerably different. You will need to do some studying. When you are stumped, dig in and figure it out or will never be happy with this tool. Reading this forum has been invaluable. LOTS of great people here! YouTube is also a great resource.

I hated this program at first but am coming around to almost starting to like it. As I figure out what and what not to use I'm pretty sure this tool will work well for me going forward. While I am still stumbling along, overall I give it a good rating.
