Occasional temporary and persistent layer trailing on M1 MacBook

Recommended Posts

This is a persistent issue even from Affinity Designer 1.0, but my first time posting and reporting it. Usually this occurs more regularly on more complex groups of objects, so for a shape with details as simple as this it surprised me.

This layer is a group of curves that originated from a text layer using a custom font. The bug did not occur until I perspective distorted the group. When dragged around, it will obstruct other layers (1st video), sometimes temporarily and sometimes permanently. Seemingly at random, the layer itself will trail behind when being moved around, and the trail will remain (2nd video) sometimes temporarily and sometimes permanently. As you can imagine this completely halts any workflows because its a persistent visual glitch with the content itself.

My software is completely up to date (Ventura 13.0.1, Affinity Designer 2.0.4), this bug persists even on quitting and restarting both the software and the device itself, and even on re-install. I don't have any third-party devices or drivers installed in this instance.

Hi @teekaymizzle,

Welcome to the Affinity Forums :)

Thanks for your report - I can confirm that our team are aware of these redraw issues when moving Warp Groups and we're working to resolve this ASAP.

I will be sure to 'bump' the development log with your thread now.

I hope this helps!

Please note -

I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time.

Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible.

Many thanks!
