pruus Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 I just tried to copy something from Designer to Photo, both beta. But I can’t copy data. Tested it with an square in Designer. I can’t copy this to Photo. Strange. Quote

In other words: Everything works as expected on MacOS Catalina, even with Keyboard Maestro "clipboard history" active. pruus Posted February 22, 2023 Author Posted February 22, 2023 Sorry, on the iPad mini. Latest beta's: AD and AP 2.1.0 (1709) Problem, clipboard copying I did start first with a new document in Photo. Draw a squares and and added a photo. Then copied the square. Opened AD, was already opened, and than choose new from clipboard. Then a error. Could not copied. Quote

Paul Mudditt Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Apple sandboxing prevents the copying of complex data objects from one app to another including one of their own apps. Best to simply save to an iCloud folder then open in the other app since .afphoto and .afdesign files are 100% compatible. There are work arounds involving export -> share to an IOS Shortcut to load in the other app if you have already created the necessary IOS Shortcuts to allow you to open Affinity direct from Apple Photos. Another workaround used iOS multitasking allows you to drag a project from one app to the other but it is fiddly to do. no longer available. pruus 1 Quote Affinity Photo, Designer, Publisher 1.10 and 2.5 on macOS 15.3 Beta Sequoia on M1 Mac Mini 16GB 1TB Affinity Photo, Designer, Publisher 1.10 and 2.5 on Windows 10 Pro. pruus Posted February 28, 2023 Author Posted February 28, 2023 I thought so. This workaround is so different than in a normal workflow. I try to avoiding this. Thanks. Quote

Just temporarily open both documents in Designer or both Documents in Photo, then you can copy paste between them. pruus 1 Quote Affinity Photo, Designer, Publisher 1.10 and 2.5 on macOS 15.3 Beta Sequoia on M1 Mac Mini 16GB 1TB Affinity Photo, Designer, Publisher 1.10 and 2.5 on Windows 10 Pro.
