Designer 2 transparency tool use it more than once on the same selection?

Seems if i add one to my selection and then click again to add another, the first one vanishes.  How do i add more?

Group the layer you have added the Transparency to and then add another transparency to the Group.

Actually, i grouped the two things, an oval and a square to drag the transparency across both of them.  And when i tried to add another it deleted the first one.

Any layer – and a Group is a type of layer – can only have one transparency, but you can group Groups.

See my attached image where the Child group has a radial transparency added to it and the Parent group has a linear transparency added to it.
