Bought version 2, uninstalled version 1, now I can ONLY run version 2 from the installer. Even if I click on exe file - it will not run. Please Help.

I purchased and installed the version 2 combination of all 3 apps. I then added icons for all 3 apps to start menu - they worked fine.

Then I uninstalled version 1 of Photo. Now the only way to run these v2 apps is to click on the installer and select Launch.

No matter how many times I try to reinstall the v2 apps, I can't get them to run without having to resort to clicking on the installer.

Even if I click directly on the EXE- it does not work.

Specific symptoms:

  • when I click the EXE, if I have task manager open - I can see the app start to run, but after a few seconds it just disappears.
  • This behavior is consistent with all 3 apps.
  • Also, when I try to uninstall the v2 apps - there is no record of any of the apps being installed, so I can't uninstall them

And I hate to raise a second problem - but when I try to login to get help - I get the message that my user id/password is incorrect. I tried last night, then I clicked on forgot password again 20 minutes ago. Still no email to reset my password. I have no way to login. My email is: place0000holder@verizon.net, Please Help!

Generally you would click on the application in the Windows Start menu. Have you tried that?

For uninstalling: you can use the Start menu, or the Settings app.

Yes - I tried clicking on each app in the start menu. If you want to see what happens - I listed the behaviour in my post.

Regarding uninstalling, Settings does not work. When I try to uninstall the v2 apps - there is no record of any of the apps being installed, so I can't uninstall them.

No, you said you "click on the EXE". You did not say you used the Start menu, which would not have an EXE but would say, for example, Affinity Photo 2.

Re: Uninstall: You went to Settings, then Apps, and did not see Affinity Photo 2, etc. at all?

Or via the Start Menu, a right-click on Affinity Photo 2 does not include Uninstall?

I just did as you suggested, and it did indeed uninstall. Don't know why these apps don't show-up in Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features.

After uninstalling, then reinstalling, unfortunately, I still can't launch by clicking on Start menu icon or the EXE.

Because Control Panel is old and doesn't support newer Windows functions like MSIX (and possibly Microsoft Store) applications.

Sorry to hear it didn't resolve the problem, though.

You could try the EXE/MSI-based version. (I would uninstall the MSIX one first to avoid confusion.)
