Thomahawk Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 Mac Monterey, afDesigner 2.0.4 When exporting only a selected object (any format like PDF, PNG etc.) - this is not working clean anymore like in earlier versions. Now the export contains a lot of white unused space around the object and therefore the resulting files are not usable and need to be cut additionally. The selection of the object clearly shows no other vector points or anything outside of the object. Therefore no reason for the additional space. test.afdesign Quote
carl123 Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 Every curve has a Mitre value of 50 Changing that to something more usual cures the problem PS. Calvert Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 This is what I had... a masked image. Quote

Old Bruce Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 Looks like you selected a curve (or rectangle) that has been used to clip a bunch of other stuff. Calvert Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 I selected the existing pdf layers that was masked by a rectangle...both. Quote
Old Bruce Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 You may be best served by using the Export Persona in Designer. And I have to confess that I am not entirely certain if you are wanting to have only the tiny bit of colour (in the upper left of the artboard) or the entire artboard with all of the white empty space as well as the bit of colour and text. Calvert Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 I have to cut this wide format graphic up and print it in sections to go on a wall. Normally, I cut this up into masked sections in illustrator then export to be sent directly to my printer individually. I was trying to do it with Affinity but even when I tell it selection only, it grabs the whole artboard. Should be only these 3 pieces... Quote

Calvert Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 Problem is setting up slices that have requirement. For example......I dont see where I can make a slice that is exactly 60.21 inches x 53.05 inches and have it snap to the image edges like I can with a mask inside of the program. I also need an exact 1 inch overlap from the top to the mid section and once again with the bottom. Persona also wants to use pixels which wont work for me as most I do is measured vectors. Even though it prints in pixels, My printer cares only about physical size, not pixels. I need accuracy down to at least .01 of an inch. If this can all be accomplished in persona, point me where.... Could Persona work for me in the future? Possible, but for wide format, its missing many features required. Quote
