colleenb Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 It works destructively, but not as a live filter layer. When I try to move the settings, nothing happens. Quote

You do not convert a filter to a live filter. They are completely different filters instead. So before using the filter toggle the live filters switch so that you see the smaller list of live filters and then chose Unsharp mask filter. I tried toggling "add live filters" first but nothing happens when I try to slide the radius, factor or threshold settings. It seems to be a bug. Thanks though. Quote

The Live Filter version of Unsharp Mask seems to be broken in 2.0.4. It works fine in 1.10. Edit: Now it's working in both 2.0.4 and 1.10. Not sure what was happening before. NotMyFault Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 It works for me. can you share a screen recording where it doesn’t? Please always check where the live filter is added in the stack. It gets nested by default, and in case you have an adjustment layer atop of your image, it will choose the wrong parent and look like not working. Staff MEB Posted February 15, 2023 Staff Posted February 15, 2023 Hi @colleenb, Welcome to Affinity Forums I'm not able to reproduce this here either. Do you mind post a clip of what you are doing as requested above so we can see what you are doing please? The process goes like this in the order described: - open the file/select the layer you want to apply the filter - tap the filters button on the right column to slide the filters panel - enable the switch for Live filters - tap the Unsharp Mask filter to select it - adjust the sliders on the left as you wish. If you had selected unsharp mask filter AND then tapped live filter, the on screen tools are for the non live filter not the live filter so will not work. You need to toggle the live filter button AND then select the unsharp mask filter once more, paying close attention in the layers panel to see where it has been introduced and which layers it will affect. Also the unsharp mask is quite a subtle effect. Can you upload a screen recording, they are easy to capture.
