I have been working on a publisher file for a week, compiling a monthly church magazine without any issues. When I came to open it last night it wouldn't open saying the file contains features from a later version off Affinity Publisher. How can that be I'm running the latest version? Because I can't open the file I have no idea what feature that may be. I produce this magazine every month and have not had issues before. Your urgent help with this would be appreciated, the file is due to go to the printers tonight.

Welcome to the forum @Peter1959

Looking at the error message I notice the file is from X: which would suggest either an external; maybe USB, device or another partition, this can sometimes cause corruption or file opening problems.

Also which version specifically are you using, the latest v1 or the latest v2  Again just noticed the AFF2 in the file name so i'm assuming it's the latest version 2 (2.0.4)

Has anyone else edited this file and maybe has V2 over V1?

Any chance you can add the afpub file to your next post for us to check out?

Yes it is on a NAS drive Not had any problems with that when I was using V1, almost 2 years. Since using V2 there have been one or two issues with file not being found when going to save, if file has been stood for a while, but have got into the habit of closing the file. I am using the latest version of V2 and no one else has edited the file.

Hey @Peter1959 welcome to the forums and apologies for the late reply,

Strangely, I've been able to open your File in the 2.1 Beta and then 'Save as' to a new file, after saving in 2.1 I could then open your file again in 2.0.4, I've attached it below in case you still need the file.

Thanks Nathan when I downloaded the Beta I found I could do that too, but the same thing happened again this month but the file wouldn't open in V2 or Beta 2.1.1074

Can you upload the new file you are having trouble with now?
