srg Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 The layer thumbnails in V2 are so confusing, even removing the checkerboard (totally useless by the way) they confuse me. need to concentrate to know where I am working exactly, or which is a child layer and which is not. Please, at least give the option to leave only the legend, such as "level adjustment" or return to V1. thanks MEB 1 Quote
GarryP Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 Just out of interest, how are the thumbnails “confusing”? And, if the thumbnails were not there, especially if the default names are kept, how would that make it easier for you to “concentrate” on what you are doing? Pšenda 1 Quote
srg Posted February 13, 2023 Author Posted February 13, 2023 I removed the object type and indeed is more legible. Did not notice that possibility. Quote

Really nothing lost. This is a demonstration how redundant and confusing that system is: in the same layer we have a little rectangle, a bigger square, and a legend, all indicating and saying the same thing. Answer: The first and third are pixel layers, as you can see with the Object Types enabled. Second is a shape of some kind. Fourth is an Image layer. But that's exactly what Walt is talking about - after turning off the layer type symbol, how do you know what layer it is when you name it, and the layer type description disappears? But if you don't organize your layers in any way and thus don't even name them, then the layer type symbol is of course redundant for you (although turning it off does nothing at all - the layer still occupies the same place). It may be fine for basic support, but in contexts like this, for me it's like answering a thousand questions from children while waiting in line to talk to a professional (adult). And it is, to say the least, a frivolous waste of time and very disturbing when you come here on a serious errand against a background of fairly serious and complicated use of the programs, where what you are reporting is a serious problem for your workflow and you DEFINITELY know what you are talking about and the aspects of the proposed changes. I really enjoy these would-be "adults" from similar pseudo-professionals who know everything best and have been everywhere twice. Thank you for your "beneficial" contributions to the topics with which you enrich us here, and that you make this forum look more "professional". joe_l and Paul Mudditt 1 1 Quote Affinity Store (MSI/EXE): Affinity Suite (ADe, APh, APu) 2.5.7.2948 (Retail) Dell OptiPlex 7060, i5-8500 3.00 GHz, 16 GB, Intel UHD Graphics 630, Dell P2417H 1920 x 1080, Windows 11 Pro, Version 24H2, Build 26100.2605.
