Affinity Photo 2.0.4 crashes after placing more than 1 PSD file at the same time.

The PSD files are created by Affinity products 2.0.3 version.

If I create a new file.... 1500px by 1500px .. .72dpi... File > Place...  Select more than 1 file... both 3 and 12 files crashed Photo 2.0.4. ... start placing them, and it will crash!

Whilst PSD import of smart objects is a feature of Affinity Photo if enabled under settings, trying to build a psd smart object file I don’t think was ever intended. Can I ask why not simply save as .afphoto files and place that .afphoto file into your document which will have the same effect but is actually supported as a method to create templates using Affinity. 

If I have misunderstood what you are trying to create and you are simply building a collage then doing that as jpg, png etc would be the preferred method of approach.

When I try this here it seems to work correctly. If you create 3 brand new PSD files using Affinity Photo and then try and place them all into a new document does the app crash? Which app was used to create your original PSD files?

Publisher 2.0.3 was used to create the PSD files.

 

<windows 10 operating system>

<MSIX version>

 

in Affinity Photo 2.0.4....

* create new document

* click FILE

* click PLACE...

* CONTROL + CLICK 3 or more files... just do 12.

* click OPEN

* wait for timer to complete work...

* once it's ready, start clicking on the page, it will CRASH.  (You can wait in-between, it will still crash even if you "give it time")

 

This is suppose to be a "production" software, where you can do things faster without having to worry about work arounds.  Unless I am mistaken, this isn't a BETA or ALPHA version is it?  Imagine, you need to get 12 of these PSD files put into a photo NOW... and it just keeps crashing... you've gotta place each one separately and that's very very very time consuming!
