Hi,

I needed to add some custom dictionaries and have now done so following the help available on this forum, archived here: https://web.archive.org/web/20230209141556/https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/98911-how-do-i-add-additional-dictionaries-to-affinity-publisher/

This guides uses hunspell dictionaries from LibreOffice's git repo, unlike the official docs that link to a broken OpenOffice website which takes you around in circles. Perhaps it would be good to update the official docs to this, seeing as the user experience of navigating Apache OpenOffice's website is atrocious, but I digress.

I have updated the settings in auto-correct etc, however there are bits of text that have been copied into the document that carry the localization settings of my desktop, namely en_NL which lacks any hunspell dictionaries. How do I change the language of text already existing in the document?

I prefer to have my interface, whether the OS or a specific program, in English but have to regularly work with documents in different languages, which brings me to my second question.

Is there a way to set the spell checker to different languages on a document basis, possibly even on a page or paragraph basis? This would be preferable to setting it for the whole program as I switch between different projects in different languages a lot. Currently I'm working on a project in sv_SE and one in en_US but looking ahead I an see encountering projects that have different languages in different paragraphs and/or pages.

Other than that I really like this program, keep up the good work!

Searching the documentation for "Spelling" or "Language" only references these pages:

I personally use Google for help searches (as well as forum posts), which provides more relevant results in most cases. Try this:

Thanks, I don't use Google but site search is a helpful tip for the future.

That being said, it would make sense to have information on how to set language for text in the spelling section of the docs, no?
