Many hours of work on a file that while working on it suddenly said 'the file seems to be corrupted' and closed. It now will not open. It is urgently need - due at the printer tomorrow. Please advise if you can help. Tried saving it to my PC (just switched to Mac and that's where I had the problem). Windows tries to load it, but the same error message.

Help!!!

Thanks for trying. I realised that I had a previous package and by rescuing some pages from a copy made for proofing, I might be able to get it good enough. Who needs sleep?

Hey @bobr666 apologies on the late reply,

Since your file is not recoverable by normal means, I can log your file with the developers to see if it can be recovered, however unfortunately I can't guarantee if it's possible or when your file is likely to be recovered.  We would also like some additional information to see if we can work out the cause of the problem and stop it happening in future. To assist this process, please can you also tell us the following:

1. Which version of Affinity did the file last get saved in?

2. What drive type was the file last saved to? (select more than one if needed)

  • Local disk
  • USB disk/Flash disk
  • Google Drive folder
  • OneDrive folder
  • iCloud folder
  • Dropbox folder
  • Network location
  • Other (please specify)

Since I can't guarantee if/when your file will be recovered, I would suggest looking into alternative means to see if you can retrieve your file via a backup, one example of this is Time Machine Snapshots on Mac: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204015
