WallowLeaf Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 Hello! I have a question regarding affinity 2. I brought the license during its release. I recently purchased a Wacom intuos pro (M). That I wish to use with affinity. But I want to change a few setting regarding the bottoms of my wacom intous. I have attached a picture of what I can see on my setting. Thank you for reading my question. I hope to receive guidance on my situation. May you all have an amazing day. Quote
walt.farrell Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 Do you have Photo 2 running at the time of your second screenshot? If not, try starting it before you try to change the Wacom configuration. If it is running, do you see it if you scroll down further in that "running applications" list? walt.farrell Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 And if that doesn't help (though it might), you could try installing the EXE/MSI version of the V2 Affinity applications: Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. I tried this method (opening all three applications: Photo, Designer, and publisher first before opening the Wacom Tablet Propeties). This has solved my problem. 8 hours ago, Old Bruce said: In addition to Walt's advice, hit the Browse button. I did tried this method before logging in this forum. > n <' Oddly I couldn't find the application anywhere... It's a bit odd... But for now it's fine. Thank you for recommeding this method Bruce! Thank you again Walt and Bruce for your time offering advice on my situation. May you two have a lovely day, everyday! 😄 walt.farrell 1 Quote

Probably won't help with the MSIX-based version of the apps, as they're in a Hidden folder. Well, Microsoft However, as I see it, it's not so much that the fact that they chose to hide the files, but that many other applications written for Windows still do not understand how to interact with applications obtained from the Microsoft Store (which is fairly old technology at this point) or the newer MSIX-based applications which are a follow-on to the Microsoft Store applications. Far too many programs that provide functions like "Edit in" still require you to browse to a file location and provide them with the full path. With MSIX-based applications, they could instead use a Windows Application Execution Alias (simple program name), but most don't let you do that. Some, at least (like the Wacom case we were discussing), let you point to a running application rather than to the executable file. So it's in part Microsoft hiding the files (for security), but in a larger part the other applications that are not evolving to keep up with new Windows technologies.
