FgX Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 With Affinity 1 it was no problem to install an application for all local users. However, with Affinity 2 the applications are only installed for a single user. In my concrete case I want to make the apps available to other family members (private use only). I own a "Affinity V2 Universal License" (no "Multi-User"). I have Is that covered by the license? How to do so? The license is not quite clear to me: Quote (i) if you are a private individual, to download, install, use and run for personal use, one (1) copy of the Serif Software directly on each computer running Microsoft Windows (“Windows Computer”) that you personally own or control. Commercial use is permitted but only use by you and not by any other users of any Windows Computers that you own or control. For example, other members of your household that use your Windows Computers may make personal use of the Serif Software whereas, if anyone other than yourself needs to make commercial use of the Serif Software, the other user will need to make a separate purchase. It sounds like my scenario would be covered, but why are the apps installed for a single user only then? Quote
Komatös Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 Hi @FgX Login to the user directory that should have access to the Affinity programs. Then start the installation program of the Affinity programs. The setup will not reinstall everything, it will only set up the files for the user directory and separate settings. It may be necessary to activate again. For this you use the activation data of the main account. - S - Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 Did you try installing using the Affinity .EXE installer, rather than the .MSIX installer? Quote
walt.farrell Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 MSIX-based programs cannot be installed "for all users". You will have to use the EXE/MSI-based version, I think: Callum 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. Ricci Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 I installed Affinity using the .MSIX installer and Affinity is working. That is until I wanted to install some plugins. When I went to C Program Files and found that Affinity is missing from the Program Files. My best guess it is because I installed using .MSIX installer and both my desktop and laptop are missing Affinity program files. Thank you for pointing out the exe files, it looks like I will have to reinstall all my Affinity apps. Quote
stevenkkim Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 I have a windows computer with 4 different user accounts that all need access to affinity designer. If I use the .MSIX installer, am I supposed to install it 4 times (one for each acccount)? Quote
