Driv
Tutorials display text boxes easily routinely fulfilled. My own text box, shown in the image, suffers the dreaded NOTHING HAPPENS effect. The cursor moves along as if it's typing with invisible ink. This occurs at the very beginning of a file opened on a simple, inserted image by a simple beginner user. firstdefence
Welcome to the forum @Driv A few questions, which app are you in and on what OS are you running? Have you made sure your text has colour, you can check this in the context menu just above the workspace and also via the Colour Panel, if you have a white box with a red diagonal line, this indicates there is no fill/no colour. Driv
That was fast, and thank you very much. It was that simple: click black and clickety clack the type came back. But I'm astonished that the default colouring would be set to no-colour, leaving one to flounder instead of flourish at the beginning. That suggests you had made a change, perhaps unintentionally, and did not realize it. And it could be a change holding over from a different document, depending on exactly what was done. So we will probably never know exactly what happened, unless you can remember/recreate exactly what you did before you noticed the problem.
