J. Reilly Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 Affinity Publisher v2.0.4 Windows 10 I have been experiencing a strange bug, as of yet the only thing that somewhat reliably replicates this that i have been able to identify is modifying the border of a text frame or table. After this, if i attempt to type within one of my existing text boxes, my letters are automatically shifted to uppercase, my spacebar still functions but any special character AND the backspace key instead create an error symbol within the text. the attached screenshot was taken after i tested replicating the bug, the ? symbols are me trying to press my backspace. using the "delete" key while this bug is happening will delete the entire text frame that i was typing in, regardless of where i was typing or if i have text highlighted. Staff Pauls Posted February 3, 2023 Staff Posted February 3, 2023 This comes up now and then but we've never been able to recreate it. Restarting the app typically puts everything back into a working state. If you can narrow down what seems to cause it we would be very interested to know Quote
J. Reilly Posted February 3, 2023 Author Posted February 3, 2023 Restarting does fix the issue, while it does happen randomly i have been able to replicate the bug by modifying the border of a table or text frame, which considering i work with layout and tables a lot, this bug has been getting pretty aggravating. I appreciate the fast response, hope this is something that can be resolved in a near-future update, because its starting to cause some genuine frustration. Quote
sfriedberg Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 I have had this (or something very similar) happen just once. IIRC, I was trying to cut and paste some spans of formatted text when it started. I did end up closing AffPub and relaunching it, since I didn't know what I would get if I saved the file in that state. Quote
