blublublub Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 Hi, Just started with Affinity. I am trying to offset the outline of a shape. It automatically offsets in two directions, can't find how to turn this off. Some parts also give an unexpected result, especially the corners. You can see below what is happening, don't really see any settings I can change that might solve this. Tutorials don't seem to cover this problem. What is weird is that some corners offset correctly while others don't. Thanks! Quote
Pšenda Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 Is it all one single closed curve? Are there any multinodes (not overlapping)? Alternatively, insert a file. blublublub Posted February 2, 2023 Author Posted February 2, 2023 Yes, I checked that there's no overlapping nodes. PercoOutline.afdesign Quote

You have to join them so they are combined into one closed curve. blublublub Posted February 2, 2023 Author Posted February 2, 2023 Thanks, that seems to be the problem indeed. I made it into one curve, there is just one node that seems to be causing a problem now. It is red, so it is the end of the curve. Do you know how I can solve that? Also in the left there is this random line that is loose from the offset, no idea why that is showing up. Pšenda Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 (edited) Multinode? After delete. Edit: "Random" line is weird, maybe some artifact from the Contour creation - just poke these nodes and weird shapes will start to form. I would try to delete this part of the curve and redraw it. But maybe it's a bug in the Contour tool.
