Possibly, but I am not convinced that it is necessary. It will only show what I have described.

Unfortunately, your description is not exactly accurate and understandable. How are you trying to drag nodes? What tool? Move Tool? Rectangle Tool? Any other tool? Is the rectangle layer locked? ..... And many other possible causes that are difficult for anyone to detect without providing additional information/screenshots/videos.

I drag nodes by putting the mouse arrow over the node (at the corner of a rectangle, for example), holding the left button down and moving the mouse. I expect the node to move with the mouse cursor until I release the left button. But the node stops moving before I release the button. I expect I could spend the day investigating this but time flies. Are there settings that would improve performance of drag-and-drop procedures like this? Is the problem unique to me, or have others had similar experiences? All I can do at the moment is report that the problem occurs. If it is unique to me, I would rather this matter were closed as I do not have time to pursue it.

Like you we could spend the day investigating, even more than you since we don't know the details of your situation. Currently only you knows your layout setup. For instance below the requested setting would be in the Pinning panel. Please don't just reply that this sample does not show "the node stops moving" but specify your layout. Since words are more ambiguous than pictures at least a screenshot would help.

If we don't know a possible reason for your issue your entire screen (including panels, tools and bars) can help to detect a possible culprit.

@jsampson06 I see this occasionally whilst using my Apple Trackpad on my Macs. This behaviour is, in my opinion, due to the trackpad/mouse. With a mouse it may be due to the mouse needing a good cleaning or it may be (less likely) caused by the drivers.

Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
