ajman098 Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 Hello! I am trying to snap to my margins in Photo 2.0.4 without success. I've tried many combinations of check marks and settings in the snap menu but I cannot get the select tool to snap to my margin. What am I doing wrong? Quote

Ron P. Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 With the Move tool selected, enter Quick Mask. Then you can move the selection, and it appears more responsive to snapping to Margins. Marquee selections don't snap to much. Drag a guide onto the margin(s) then snap the marquee selection to that Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. By using Quick Mask & the Move Tool any marching ants selection, regardless of the selection tool used to create it, snaps to all of the enabled snapping options, not just to the margins. It's odd that it works that way & not particularly user friendly, but it does work quite well. Old Bruce Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 Do this on an empty Pixel layer that is selected in the Layers panel. After making your marquee selection switch to the Move tool, you should be able to move and snap to anything for which snapping is enabled. If you don't use an Empty pixel layer the selected pixels will be moved along with the selection. If you don't use an Empty pixel layer the selected pixels will be moved along with the selection. It is not necessary to create or use an empty Pixel layer because the Quick Mask option automatically deselects any previously selected layer, allowing the user to move the marquee selection (or any other type of marching ants selection) using the Move Tool without moving any layer's pixels. This will also use all of the enabled snapping options.
