Hi, I really hope someone can help me with this, I'm struggling.

I'm having this problem with huge space in between words or even letters while editing a book, it's my first time with affinity and in general to do such things.

I tried changing the hyphenation and justification many times, it always appears some sort of gap like this or perhaps even smaller but noticeable if you look it from a distance.

I am not an expert, I'm fixing things as I go.

This appears especially when I justify to left, but sometimes even aligning to left, it doesn't appear when I align to center but it appears also when justify to center.

The hyphenation sometimes helps if I reduce and split words but of course this is not always possible.

I tried selecting the space and changing it but of course this increases the spaces somewhere else.

I really really hope someone has a solution for this, probably I'm doing something wrong, since I have 0 experience.

Thank you in advance

It looks like you have Justify All selected, but I see you have experimented with those things.
Toggle Text > Show Special Characters and give us a new screen. I think that'll help troubleshoot it.

I added four screenshots so maybe you can understand better. This happenes often in the text, it is various different texts so it's a problem of the document because extended to all the things I write in it

Assuming you're in Publisher, use Text > Show Special Characters.

It really does look like you have Justify All set for that text, and have Line Breaks after some of your text, which will cause that effect. In that case you probably want Justify Left instead.

Tried this and only way I get a similar result is if I add returns in front of "like"  and after "pure"

tlhs, the screenshots you uploaded, they are still hard to tell what all is there (you cropped them too close to the edges). Do you see in the screen shots FirstDefence posted that there are paragraph breaks to the right of the paragraph box? They look like mirrored Ps. You might not have added them, but they might still be there. If you are editing a file someone else worked on, they might have added them to force a line break. You need to clear those forced line breaks.

Is it your text or did you copy and paste someone else's text ?

There might be « shift return » and « return » codes in that text and you can’t see them without activating « show special characters »…

Can you please post a document with some of this text. We are just going to keep going around guessing. One of your screenshots shows what could be Non Breaking spaces in the text.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
