Please could you help try recover it.

Can you please try the following method first.

No guarantees but it might just work.

2017 27” iMac 4.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 • Radeon Pr 580 8GB • 64GB • Ventura 13.6.4.

iPad Pro (10.5-inch) • 256GB • Version 16.4

I tried to open your file in Publisher 2 and Designer 2 with no luck, sorry.

Have you updated to the latest versions of your Affinity apps. If you are still in v1 then try to update to the latest v1 releases.

If that doesn't work then, hopefully, support can chime in.

I have tried the following, but to no avail:

  1. Mentioned Workaround in Publisher V2 (latest release) – »Failed to open document« (corrupt file) notification, no further options, document failed to load.
  2. Mentioned Workaround in Publisher V1 (latest release) – »Failed to open document« (corrupt file) notification, no further options, document failed to load.
  3. Simply opening the file in Publisher V2 (latest release) – 1. Opening legacy document notification followed by 2. »Failed to open document« (corrupt file) notification, document failed to load.
  4. Simply opening the file in Publisher V1 (latest release) – »Failed to open document« (corrupt file) notification, no further options, document failed to load.

Hi @amber.1 welcome to the forums & apologies on the late reply,

Since your file is not recoverable by normal means, I can log your file with the developers to see if it can be recovered, however unfortunately I can't guarantee if it's possible or when your file is likely to be recovered.  We would also like some additional information to see if we can work out the cause of the problem and stop it happening in future. To assist this process, please can you also tell us the following:

1. Which Operating System are you using?

2. Which version of Affinity did the file last get saved in?

3. What drive type was the file last saved to (select more than one if needed)?

  • Local disk
  • USB disk/Flash disk
  • Google Drive folder
  • OneDrive folder
  • iCloud folder
  • Dropbox folder
  • Network location
  • Other (please specify)

Since I can't guarantee if/when your file will be recovered, I would suggest looking into alternative means to see if you can retrieve your file via a backup, one example of this is Time Machine Snapshots on Mac: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204015
