pagey
I have a black and white document and it's been folded a few times. I want to load it into Affinity Photo and use the clone stamp tool to get rid of some of the creases. When I load the pdf in I can't seem to do this like I would a normal photo. The clone stamp tool won't work. The easiest way so far had been to load the document into Affinity, export it as a jpeg then load this into the program and do the above and then save again as a pdf. Is there an easier way or am I missing something?
Staff Lee D Posted February 12, 2016 Staff Share Posted February 12, 2016 Hi pagey, When you load your PDF file into Photo, does it show as a Pixel layer on the Layers tab as if it does the Clone tool should work. If you want to, upload a copy of the PDF here and I can have a look. L
barninga
in the layer stack rightclick on the layer of the imported pdf, and select rasterise. this will turn it into a pixel layer; after this the clone tool will work. pagey
Thanks for the responses. When I load the form into Affinity Photo, in the layer window there is about 20 layers. It's as if Affinity has categorised each box (it's a marriage certificate) into a layer. Can you rasterise multiple layers? Thanks for the offer but because its a personal document I don't really want to upload it onto the forum. I will need to find another way to use the clone stamp tool. R C-R
There are multiple layers because they are there in the pdf file. The PDF Format can hold several different kinds of items, including raster images, vector objects, text, & so on. Yes, you can rasterize multiple layers, but you may not need to do that. It may be that the creases are on raster (pixel) layers that you can just delete or hide. If I don't need to rasterize it then how would you suggest I proceed. If this was a jpeg I could fix it in about 10 seconds using the clone tool. Any help appreciated.
