I have purchased Affinity Photo 2 downloaded and running on my MAC. When I open an astrophotography tiff file to carry out some tweaks I find that there is a brightness difference when I switch from Photo Persona to Develop Persona. After editing in Develop persona and confirm develop the resulting image displayed back in Photo Persona is now darker than that shown in develop persona.

Editing standard camera DSLR images seem to work okay. As a test I tried to edit the same astrophotography tiff file in Affinity Photo 1 and all works okay.

Any suggestions to what may be going on?

Hey @andrewG48 welcome to the forums & apologies for the late reply,

Could you confirm if this is an issue you're still encountering as of 2.0.4? If this is still an issue, could you possibly provide me with a sample file where you're encountering this problem when switching between personas? Let me know if you would like a private upload link.

Many thanks 🙂

I have 2.0.4 and still have the issue where my astrophotography file does not open in develop mode with the same brightness. Please provide a private upload link so that I can send you an example. It works fine on Affinity 1

Hey @andrewG48 apologies again,

I'm definitely seeing the same unusual exposure shift when switching between the develop and Photo persona which is not present in V1. I've also found that re-assigning the file to the same ICC profile appears to prevent the shift in V2. If you have any other examples that would be great, and i'll get this logged internally. I have provided an upload link below.

Also, is anything being done with the images prior to importing them into Photo? There doesn't appear to be much in terms of EXIF data on your earlier example.

Helle Nathan, I have uploaded two sample files for you to test. Both of these will work fine in Affinity 1 but not in Affinity 2.

There will not be much in the exif file as In use a dedicated astrophotography camera, the Altair Astro 26C one shot colour camera which uses a sony sensor. This generates multiple fits files which I then stack and pre-process in pixinsight before exporting as a tif file to finish off in Affinity

Hope this helps

Andrew
