After frequency separation retouchnig of High/Low friquency layers become almost impossible due to severe lags

Recommended Posts

Running 2.0.3 Affinity Photo on Windows 10 (21H2) with 16GB RAM and GPU (Nvidia GeForce 1650)

After separating of major pixel layer into High and Low frequence parts, trying to retouch the portraits with Patch tool and Brushes. Almost immetetely the system become really laggy with extremely slow responce.

I'm retouching Canon RAW files caming strait from the camera via Develop Persona

CPU jumps to about 100% and stayes there a long time after any retouching attempt.

This phenomenon wasn't observed on the previous Affinity Photo version - 1.10

Ok, just checked...  this happen also w/o any relation to Frequency separation

Please advise.

Thanks,

Welcome to the forums !

Likely a video driver issue, try turning off hardware acceleration under Affinity preferences.
