Step and Repeat

Recommended Posts

Can we see an example of the kind of design you're making?

Are they something that the new Quick Grid function would help with?

Step and Repeat

Some of this functionality is covered by "Power Duplicate": affinity.help/designer2/en-US.lproj/pages/ObjectControl/duplicate.html

MacBookAir 15": MacOS Ventura > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // MacBookPro 15" mid-2012: MacOS El Capitan > Affinity v1 / MacOS Catalina > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // iPad 8th: iPadOS 16 > Affinity v2

Neither Quick Grid nor Power Duplicate are acceptable or efficient replacements for Step and Repeat which is implemented in a wide variety of other design software applications.

If you are a professional designer, then you are already familiar with what "Step and Repeat" entails, as it has been implemented in professional design software for over 30 years. I am not here to satisfy your ego.

Yes, we know what the function is. What we do not understand is the nature of your work that doesn't allow use of the methods that Affinity does support. So we want to see what you're doing that can't be done already.

I see that there hasn’t been a thread about this in about a year, so I would like to mention that Step and Repeat is an essential tool for the kind of design work that I do creating personal organizer products.

Hello, @gcvrsa. Welcome to Affinity.

We are all users of the Affinity suite here, and we all know the features of the product, but we have no idea what you are talking about here.

A good understanding of your expectations and disappointments is important to be able to answer!

On another subject, imagine the following dialogue in a doctor’s office:

- Doctor, I didn’t enjoy my dinner last night.

- Okay! What did you eat?

- You know what I ate. It’s a dinner!

- I know what a dinner is, but what did you eat last night?

- That’s my private life. What I’m asking you to do is to cure me.

- What are the symptoms?

- Are you doing this on purpose or what? I told you it’s my private life.

Etc.

To understand your suggestion, a screen copy or better a video, and explanations are necessary.

6 cœurs, 12 processus - Windows 11 pro - 4K - DirectX 12 - Suite universelle Affinity (Affinity  Publisher, Affinity Designer, Affinity Photo).

Mais je vous le demande, peut-on imaginer une police sans sérifs ?
