De-noise via Stacking query

Recommended Posts

So I watched the video tutorial on reducing noise through stacking and have a question.

How many images is needed for optimal results? I noticed in the video quite a large number of images was used. I tried experimenting myself with a couple of images. I stacked 3 or 4 but couldn't see much of a difference. So I'm assuming there is a ballpark number of pictures one would need to have in order to get noticeable denoising results? Obviously the more the better...but that isn't always practical. e.g. at least 10 or something?
