Did I find a secret Vertical Text function? Help!

Help! I think I've "broken" Affinity Publisher. All the forums say that vertical text is not supported (think Chinese/Japanese writing top to bottom, right to left) and yet somehow all the text boxes I create since yesterday in my work-in-progress type the english letters from top to bottom! Gah!! I've searched high and low on Google and in affinity forums for a solution and can find no mention of this function anywhere or how to turn it off and have my text type left to right again! Have I unlocked some weird hidden feature? Have I broken the code?
 

When I create a brand new project, it does not do this. Also, I can copy and paste text boxes from a new project to my work in progress one and the text types normally. But all text boxes I create in my WIP, no matter what page, type top to bottom.

Maybe you have set something up on the text frame to push it over to the right. Probably set the left inset on the frame too high.

Many roads lead to Rome, but it's a neat little trick to get vertical text lol! well done Lydia.

If you really want vertical text just draw a very narrow text frame. You can't use multiple columns in a frame because they'd flow from left to right but you could draw them manually and then link them from right to left. It sort of works.
